CHAP. 237.

notice of the payment required, in one or more of the
newspapers printed in the city of Baltimore, and in
at least one newspaper published in Baltimore county,
without the limits of Baltimore city.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the president and
managers shall have discretionary power to change the
location of the said road, from the bed of the present
road above described in the first section of this act, at
such places as they shall conceive the general interests

on any other land, than the beds of the aforesaid roads
without first obtaining the free consent, in writing, of
the owner of such lands through which they may con-
template making the new location, or by paying the
said owner or owners, such sums of money as may

the provisions of the act passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and thirty-seven, chapter twenty-five,
entitled, an act to define the duties of sheriffs, coroners
or elisors, so far as relates to Baltimore county.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the stockholders
in the said company shall be, and they are hereby in-
corporated, and constituted a body politic, by the name

of the Bloomingsdale Turnpike company, and by the
same name shall have succession, during the continu-
ance of this corporation, and the said stockholders and
their successors, by the name aforesaid, may sue and
be sued, answer and be answered, in any court of law
or equity in this State, and may do and execute every
other matter and thing by the name aforesaid, that they
are authorised to do in virtue of this act.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That after the presi-
dent and managers are elected in the manner herein-
before mentioned, they shall have full power and au-
thority to receive subscriptions for all subscribed, or
vacant shares, and upon the said election, the powers
heretofore vested in the commissioners for receiving sub-

scriptions shall cease; Provided nevertheless, that
when either the capital slock, or a sum sufficient for
the completion of said road, is subscribed for, no fur-
ther subscriptions shall be received.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the said company
shall cause the said road to be laid out, at least thirty
feet wide, sixteen feet whereof in breadth, at least shall
be made an artificial road, to be composed of gravel or
