in any capacity, have, hold or possess, at any one time,
properly to an amount or value exceeding in the aggre-
gate the sum of fifty thousand dollars; nor shall the
clear yearly value or income of the whole amount of
properly held by any such corporation, at any time,
exceed the sum of four thousand dollars.

CHAP. 231.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That if any change,
alteration or amendment of the articles, conditions or
provisions of this act, shall be made by the authority of
the corporation as aforesaid, such change, alteration or
amendment, shall be made known, acknowledged and
recorded in the same manner as prescribed in the first
section of this act, and after the said alterations or
amendments shall be recorded, the same shall be taken
and deemed to a be part of the charter or instrument
upon which such corporation was formed and establish-
ed, to all intents and purposes, as if the same had
originally been made a part thereof.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the usual fees for
equal or similar services, shall be received by the respec-
tive clerks under the provisions of this act, and all the ex-
penses of procuring the charters of incorporation and
recording the same, shall be borne by the parties respec-

tively applying therefor, and after the instrument of wri-
ting, or articles of association, or any amendments
thereof, shall have been recorded as hereinbefore direct-

ed, they shall be duly certified, to be recorded, and be
delivered over to the respective applicants, and a copy

of the record, duly certified, shall be, at all times, as
good evidence as the original might or could be.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That no corporation
formed or established under this act, shall be authorised
to exercise banking privileges, or to issue any note,
token, device, scrip or other evidence of debt, to be used
as a currency.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That full right is at
all times hereby reserved to the General Assembly, to
alter, amend or repeal this act, or to modify, amend or
annul the charier of any corporation that may be form-
ed or established under or by virtue of this act.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act. shall take
effect from and after its passage.
