CHAPTER 226.

AN ACT to provide for the Collecting of State ana
County Taxes in Arrear in Baltimore county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That, the present sheriff and the late
sheriff of Baltimore county, in pursuance of the autho-
rity conferred by the act of December Session, eighteen
hundred and forty-six, chapter three hundred and forty-
nine, to collect the taxes by said act declared to be in
arrears, whether State or county, shall be, and they me
hereby required to enforce the collection of the same in
the manner prescribed by the act of December session
eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter two hundred
and thirty-six, and shall be entitled to receive as a com-
pensation for such forced collections, the same fees as are
now authorised by law upon service of writs of fieri

facias; Provided, nevertheless, nothing herein con-
tained shall be construed to restrain, or in any way im-
pair the rights secured to tax payers by the act of eigh-
teen hundred and forty-four, chapter two hundred and
thirty-six, in any case in which it may become neces-
sary to enforce the payment of taxes in arrear, in the
manner prescribed in the said net.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall go into
effect from and after the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 227.

In force.

AN ACT for the completion of the Unfinished Busi-
ness of Baltimore County Court, as a Court of
Equity, so far as the same relates to the city of
Baltimore.

17, 1852.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That all the causes depending in Balti-
more county court, as a court of equity, at the time of the
qualification of the judge of the Superior court of Bal-
timore city, in which, either the land in controversy or
any part thereof, is situate within the city of Baltimore,
or the defendant or defendants, or any of them, reside
in Said city, shall be, and the same are hereby declared
to be transferred to the Superior court of Baltimore city,
