CHAPTER 222.

AN ACT to change the place of holding Elections,
in Election District, number three, or the Lower
Election District of Caroline county.

Place of hold-
ing elections.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That from and after the passage of this
act, the place of holding elections, in election district,
number three, or the lower election district, in Caroline
county, shall be held at a place, called and known by
the name of Harmony, at a cross road, leading to Gil-
pin's Point.

Inconsistent
acts repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts, or parts
of acts, inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be,
and the game are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 223.

AN ACT to create a new Election District in Wash-

ington county.

Authority to
lay off new
election dis-
trict.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the commissioners of Washington
county, or a majority of them, be, and they are hereby
authorized and appointed to lay off a new election dis-
trict, out of those parts of Sharpsburg, Willimsport,
and Boonsboro' districts contiguous to each oilier, com-
mencing for the boundaries of said district, at the col-
lege of St. James, thence to the mouth of a lane, on
the Hagerstown and Sharpsburg road, one mile north

of Jones' cross roads, thence east with the division line

of district number six and ten, to the Antietam creek,
thence with said creek, to a bridge crossed by a road,
leading from Keedysville to Bakersville, thence with
said road to the school house in Smoketown, thence
with the by road via John Poffenberger's, to Dovenber-
ger's warehouse, thence with the Potomac river two
miles, thence with a straight line to a house on the
Williamsport and Sharpsburg road, one-fourth of a mile,
west of Mount Moriah school house, thence with a
straight line to the place of beginning.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, Thai the commissioners,
or a majority of them, shall make choice of a central
