act, and all days for the test or return of writs or other
process which shall have been adopted by either of said
Courts, are hereby made and declared to be as valid
and legal to every effect, as if the same had been pre-
viously authorised and prescribed by an act of the Ge-
neral Assembly of Maryland.

AN ACT to authorise the clerk of the Circuit court
for Howard county, to deliver to Thomas Brice
Hobbs, his commission as Register of Wills of said
county, without requiring any additional Tax.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, at an election held on the first Wednes-
day of November, eighteen hundred and fifty-one, a
certain Thomas Brice Hobos, was returned elected by
the judges of election, as Register of Wills for Howard
county, and was duly commissioned us such, having
paid the tux fixed by law on such commission; And
whereas, the House of Delegates of Maryland, in the
exercise of the constitutional power vested in it, declar-
ed that a tie existed between the said Thomas Brice
Hobbs, and a certain Thomas Jenkins, and a warrant
of an election thereupon issued for a proper person to
fill that office; And whereas, in pursuance of the order
of this House, an election was held on the seventh day
of April, for a proper person to fill that office, and said
Thomas Brice Hobbs, has been again returned and
declared elected, Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Clerk of the Circuit Court of
Howard county, be, and he is hereby authorised and
directed, to deliver to the said Thomas Brice Hobbs,
his commission as Register of Wills of Howard county,
without demanding or receiving from said Thomas
Brice Hobbs, the tax required to be paid by law for
such commission.
