CHAP. 196.
Salary of as-
sistant.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the assistant shall
receive the animal salary of one thousand dollars, to be
paid as salaries of other civil officers now are, or may
be paid; and that for the expenses of said laboratory,
the State Chemist shall bo allowed the sum of four
hundred and fifty dollars, to be annually paid in ad-
vance.

Inconsistent
acts repealed.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts
of acts contrary to this act, be, and the same are hereby
repealed.

To continue
in force until
1st Jan. 1854.
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall be
in force from and after its passage, and shall continue
in force until the first day of January, eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-four, and unlit the end of the next ses-
sion of the General Assembly that shall commence
thereafter, unless sooner repealed by the Legislature.

AN ACT to provide for the Compensation of the
Crier to the Circuit Court of Prince George's
County.
|

|
Repealed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That so much of the fourth section
of the act of eighteen hundred and forty-two
chapter one hundred and eighty-eight, which enacts
"that the bailiffs and crier of Prince George's Coun-
ty Court and Courts of Equity, shall receive the
same pay and allowance for travelling, which are by
this act to jurors, &c.,'' be, and the same is hereby re-
pealed, so far as it refers to the crier of the Circuit
Court of Prince George's county.

Authority to
levy.
|
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the
county commissioners of Prince George's county, shall,
at their levy laying term, in the year eighteen hundred
and fifty-three, and at the same time in every succeed-
ing year, levy on the assessable property of the county,
the sum of eighty dollars, which shall be paid to the
crier of said court, in lieu of the pay and allowance
provided for in the act above referred to.
