CHAP. 190.

Notice to be
given that
contract will
be let.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of said commissioners, or a majority of them, before
they shall enter into any conduct for the aforesaid roads
and ferry, to give at least fifteen days notice that such
contract will be let out, by advertising the same at
four public places in the county, or in the Worcester

County Shield; and it shall, also, be the duty of said
commissioners, or a majority of them, to award the
contract to the lowest responsible bidder; the contractor
giving bond with security approved by said commis-
sioners, for the faithful performance of the said con-
tract.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners shall be allowed the sum of two dollars per day
for each day they serve in the capacity of commis-
sioners as aforesaid, (provided, the time does not exceed
ten days,) to be paid as other county charges are now
paid.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the county com-
missioners for Worcester county, upon a report being
made to them by the commissioners, appointed by the
first section of this act, or a majority of them, that the
aforesaid roods, wharves and ferry, have been comple-
ted according to contract, that said county commission-
ers are hereby authorised and required to levy on the
assessable property of said county, to be paid in two
annual instalments, a sum sufficient to pay the con-

said county commissioners shall make provision annu-
ally, for the keeping of the aforesaid roads and ferry,
for public use and benefit.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.

Incorporated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Cormer, Thomas Hughey, Clisezum & Eury, James
