the plats and other proceedings, in relation to the same,
shall be laid before the county commissioners within
thirty days after the completion of the same, and shall
not be valid until confirmed by said county commis-
sioners, who shall not act thereon without having given
public notice by advertisement, at least once a week
for three successive weeks, in two newspapers, one pub-
lished in Baltimore county, and the other in the city of
Baltimore, that said plats and proceedings had been
returned to the office of the said county commissioners,
and would be acted on by some certain day, to be
named in said advertisement.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from its passage.

AN ACT to designate the persona, before whom,
Oaths of office shall be taken and subscribed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the oath required to he taken and
subscribed by every person, elected or appointed to any
office of profit or trust, under the Constitution or laws
of this State, shall be taken and subscribed in the city

of Baltimore, before the Clerk of the Superior Court,
and in the several counties, before the Clerk of the
Circuit Court, or one of the sworn deputies of such
clerks, affirmations in the cases, where permitted to be
taken, to be made and subscribed in like manner.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the clerks aforesaid
shall each procure and keep in his office, a well bound
book, to be called the Test Book, in which shall be
printed, or conspicuously written, the oaths or affirma-
tions as aforesaid; and every person taking and subscrib-
ing the same, shall annex to his signature the title of

office to which he shall have been elected or appoint-
ed, and the date of his signature.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the Secretary of
State, the Judges of the Court of Appeals and their
clerk, the State Reporter, the State Librarian, the
Treasurer, Comptroller, Commissioner of the Land
