AN ACT in addition to an Act entitled, an Act to
Incorporate the Swanton Coal and Iron company
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
forty-nine, chapter one hundred and fifty-three.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, By the act of eighteen hundred and
forty-nine, chapter one hundred and fifty-three, John
Swan, Charles F. B. Swan, Robert Swan and William
Price, were, together with all and every person who
should become associated with them, in the manner
therein prescribed, constituted a body corporate by the
name of the Swanton Coal and Iron company; And
whereas, by the death of the said John Swan and
Charles F. B. Swan, within the time prescribed by
law, for the organization of the said company, and it
being just and reasonable, that the corporate franchises,
granted by the said act, should not be forfeited, without
any default of the said parties; Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the corporate rights, franchises
and privileges, conferred by the act to which this is a
supplement, in John Swan, Charles F. B. Swan,
Robert Swan and William Price, be, and the same are
hereby vested in William Price, William D. Bowie
and George Lynn, and that the period of two years
from the passage of this act, be allowed the said last
named persons to organise the said company accord-
ing to the provisions of the said original act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the original act
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and forty-
nine, chapter one hundred and fifty-three, to which
this is a supplement, be, and the same is hereby re-
vived.

AN ACT to make valid a Deed from diaries H.
Carroll, of the State of New York, Executor of
the last will and testament of Charles Carroll, de-
ceased, to James Reynolds, of Montgomery county.
