1852.

upon such petition and application, within sixty days
alter such decision, and the said appeal shall be heard
at the first term of the next ensuing Court of Appeals;

CHAP. 156.

Provided, however, thai the said writ of attachment
shall not remain in force or effect beyond the time of
ten days after the judge shall have decided to quash the
flame on the return thereof, unless the parly appealing
shall file a bond in such penalty and with such security
as may be approved by said judge, conditioned to pro-
secute said appeal, with effect, or in default thereof to
pay such costs and damages as the absent defendant or
defendants, or other parlies interested in said properly,
goods and credits may incur or suffer by reason of such
attachment and appeal; And provided further, that
the party appealing shall have ten days from the
dale of the order or judgment quashing any such writ

of attachment, within which he may file his bond as
aforesaid, and the said writ of attachment shall remain
in force during the ten days.

Provisoes.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and alter its passage.

CHAPTER 156.

AN ACT for the benefit of Susan Walker, of Wor-
cester county, legal Representative of Mary Ste-
vens.

14, 1852.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the Treasurer, be, and he is hereby
authorised and directed upon the warrant of the Comp-
troller, to pay to the order of Susan Walker, of Wor-
cester county, legal representative of Mary Stephens,
late of said county, deceased, who was a revolutionary
pensioner of Maryland, the amount of pension due her
at the time of her death, which occured on the first day

of August, eighteen hundred and fifty-one.

Authority to
pay.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
