1852.

been a body politic and corporate; any trustee or trus-
tees, person or persons, to whom any such conveyance
or conveyances shall or may have been made, to and
for any such use or uses, as aforesaid, may be required
to assign and transfer the same unto the said corpora-
tion, and in such case, the same shall be, and remain
good and sufficient, to all intents and purposes, at law
and in equity, as if originally made to such corpora-
tion, and all and singular the liabilities and obligations

of, by and between the members of such incorpora-
ted association of persons shall be and remain of as
binding force, virtue and effect, in the law and in
equity, as if such association of persons had been from
the first so incorporated as aforesaid.

CHAP. 149.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That nothing in this
act contained shall be so taken or construed, as to allow
any incorporation created or incorporated, under and by
virtue of this act, to issue any note, token, scrip, device,
or other evidence of debt, to be used as currency; and
that the power be, and is hereby reserved to the Legis-
lature to alter, amend or repeal this act at pleasure.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, Thai this act shall take
effect from and immediately after the day of its pas-
sage.

CHAPTER 149.

In force.

AN ACT authorising the County Commissioners of
Allegany County, to levy annually a sufficient sum

of money to pay State Witnesses.

17, 1852.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of Alle-
gany county, be, and they are hereby authorised, and
required at their first levy term after the passage of this
act, and annually thereafter, to levy on the assessable
property of said county, a sufficient sum of money in
advance, for the payment of State witnesses, which
said sum of money so levied, shall be collected by the
collector of said county, as other county charges are
collected.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said collector
shall pay over to each witness entitled to receive the
same, out of the amount so collected, upon his produc-
ing a certificate signed by the Clerk of the Circuit
