CHAPTER 136.

CHAP. 137.

AN ACT to make valid all Judgments rendered by
any of the District Courts of this State, since the
adoption of the new Constitution.

Passed May
10, 1852.

WHEREAS, doubts are entertained whether the Dis-
trict Courts, established in many of the counties of this
State, were authorised to act as such since the adoption

of the new constitution, Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That all judgments rendered by any of
the District Courts within this State, since the adoption

of the Constitution, and nil other lawful business done
by any of said courts, be, and the same are hereby made
valid in law.

Made valid.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the dockets and
papers in possession of any of the justices of the Dis-
trict Courts, shall be forthwith returned and delivered to
the clerks of the Circuit Courts of the several counties
in which the said District Courts existed, and that co-
pies of all judgments remaining unsatisfied on the
dockets respectively of said courts, certified by the
clerks of said Circuit Courts respectively, under their
bands and seals of office, shall be sufficient to authorise
a justice of the peace to issue thereon writs of scire
facias, or writs of attachment on warrant, or by way of
execution.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, that this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 137.

AN ACT to incorporate the Mutual Fire Insurance
Company, of Anne Arundel county.
