making the lines thereof as nearly straight as con-
veniently may be, and the said commissioners, or
any two of them, shall determine and direct how
the said street shall be graded, and in what manner
Green street, at and near its junction with Water
street, shall be filled up so as best to promote the

public convenience; Provided, that no part of the
expense of the said commission, nor of any thing that
shall be clone or determined by the said commissioners
shall be imposed upon the said city.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners shall cause a plot of Water street, and of that!
part of Green street as directed, to be filled up by them,
with such explanations of the same as they may deem
necessary to be made out, which plot and explanations
shall be returned by the said commissioners to the Clerk

of the Circuit court for Allegany county, to be filed of
record in his office.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the lots lying on
the west of Water street, from Washington to Green
street, shall be bounded on the east by the lines of said
Water street, as the same shall be established and locat-
ed by the said commissioners, and that this act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 12.

Lots located.

AN ACT to prescribe the Oaths to be taken and the
Bond to be entered into by the. Comptroller and
Treasurer.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That in addition to the oath prescribed
in the fourth section of the first article of the Consti-
tution, the Comptroller and the Treasurer shall each
take an oath faithfully, diligently and honestly to dis-
charge the duties of his office.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That every Comptroller
and Treasurer before entering on the discharge of his
duties, shall give bond to the State of Maryland with
security or securities to be approved by the Govern-
or, in the penally and according to the form hereinaf-
ter directed and prescribed.
