CHAPTER 76.
An ad for the relief of William R. Gilles, James
Gilles and David Gilles.

WHEREAS, William R. Gilles, James Gilles and
David Gilles have represented to this General As-
sembly, that they obtained a deed of conveyance
from Edward Parish, attorney for William Mossman
and Sarah his wife, of Mercer county, Pennsylvania,
for their part, of an undivided tract of land lying in
Baltimore county, called Gilles' Garden, containing
two hundred and forty acres of land, more or less; but
that the said deed was not executed by the said
William Mossman and Sarah his wife, but by
their attorney; and that the said William Mossman.
and Sarah Mossman did not proceed agreeably to the
laws of this state in executing the power of attorney;
and hath prayed that the deed from Edward Parish to
them may be rendered valid: Therefore,

preamble.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a deed of conveyance from Edward
Parish to William R. Gilles, James Gilles and David
Gilles, for an undivided part of a tract of land called
Gilles' garden, containing two hundred and forty-two
acres of land, more or less, bearing date August
eighteen hundred and ten, be, and the same is hereby
declared to be good and valid to convey to the said
William R. Gilles, James Gilles and David Gilles,
all the estate, right, title, interest and claim, of, in and
to the said land, which the said William Mossman
and Sarah Mossman his wife, had at the time of exe-
cuting the power of attorney above referred to, to all
intents and purposes; and in the same manner as if
the said William Mossman and Sarah Mossman had
proceeded agreeably to the laws of this state, in exe-
cuting the said power of attorney; Provided, That
nothing herein contained shall make good and valid
this deed to convey the lands and premises herein
mentioned, unless the purchase money for the same
shall have been paid to the said William Mossman
or his order according to contract.
