1811.

after the passage of this act, to assess and levy On the
assessable property of said county, five hundred dol-
lars, for the purpose of repairing the Windsor Mill
road, up to the Windsor Mills, and that part of the
old Garretson road which lies between the Windsor
Mill road, and the Liberty-town road.

AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said levy
court shall immediately, or as soon as possible after
the said money is levied, appoint a supervisor, who
shall, under their direction, lay out the said money in
repairing the said roads.

 

CHAPTER 26.

Passed Dec, 27,
1811.

An Act to dispose of certain Lots therein specified,
in Somerset county.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, It is represented to this General As-
sembly, that the growth of tobacco has been disconti-
nued for some time past in Somerset county, and that
the public ware-houses established for the inspection
and reception thereof, have for a number of years
past been rendered totally useless. And whereas,
those buildings are in a state of decay: Therefore,

BE If ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the levy court of Somerset county,
be, and they are hereby authorised, empowered and
directed to dispose of the ware house lots in Somer-
set county, together with the appurtenances belonging
thereto, at public sale, on or before the first day of
June next, upon such terms and conditions as they in
their wisdom shall deem expedient, giving at least
four weeks notice at each respective place, of such
sale.

AND BE IT ENACTED, That the levy court,
or a majority of them, upon the sale of those lots, are
hereby directed, upon the payment of the purchase mo-
ney, to execute and acknowledge in the usual form, a
deed or deeds to the purchaser or purchasers for the
same, and that the deed or deeds so executed, shall
operate to convey the interest of the said county, in
and to the said ware-house lots so sold, to the pur-
chaser or purchasers, according to the true intent and
meaning of the said deed or deeds.
