now in the possession of the said Mary Wood, be,
and the same is hereby confirmed unto the said Mary
Wood, her heirs and assigns for ever; and also, to the
purchaser or purchasers of such personal property as
said Mary Wood may have disposed of since the
departure of her said husband as aforesaid, from the
state of Maryland, free and clear from all demands of
the said Richard Wood, his heirs or assigns in conse-
quence of his intermarriage with the said Mary
Wood as aforesaid.

CHAPTER 188.

1812.

An act to authorise Owen Evans, guardian of
the heirs at law of Jesse Brooks, deceased, to
sell and convey certain property therein mention-
ed, lying in Cecil county.

Preamble,

WHEREAS, it hath been represented to this Gen-
eral Assembly by the petition of Owen Evans of
Montgomery county, in the state of Pennsylvania,
that he is guardian of Eliza, Thomas and Jesse
Brooks, heirs at law of a certain Jesse Brooks, who
died seized of one undivided half part or moiety of a
ware-house and wharf, situated at Elk Landing in Ce-
cil county, in the state of Maryland, that said proper-
ty is in a decayed and perishable condition, owing to
the remote residence of said Owen Evans as well as
of the minors, Eliza, Thomas and Jesse Brooks, from
the place where the aforesaid property is situated: —
Therefore,

He may sell
and convey said
property. Deed
shall be record-
ed, &c.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Owen Evans be, and he is hereby
authorised and empowered to sell and convey in fee
simple by a deed under his hand and seal duly acknow-
ledged, all the estate, right, title, interest and claim
either at law or in equity, which the said Eliza, Tho-
mas and Jesse Brooks now have as heirs at law of
the said Jesse Brooks, of, in or to the said one undi-
vided half part or moiety of a ware-house and wharf,
situated at Elk Landing in Cecil county, in the state
of Maryland; which deed when so executed and ac-
knowledged, shall be recorded among the land records
of Cecil county within the time and in the manner
which other deeds for any real estate are required by
law to be recorded; Provided nevertheless. That be-
fore the said Owen Evans shall be authorised to make
be conveyance aforesaid, he shall give bond to the
