sum of fifty thousand dollars, conditioned that they
will, at the expiration of sixty days after the drawing
of the said lottery shall be completed, pay to the law-
ful holders of tickets drawn prizes, the amount of the
prizes to which they shall respectively be entitled, if
demanded within twelve months after the drawing
shall be completed, and the balance of all money
which they shall receive from the sale of tickets, after
deducting all expenses which they shall incur, to the
regents of the college of Medicine, of Maryland,,

CHAPTER 133.

1811.

An act for opening and extending Saint Paul's
street in the city and precincts of Baltimore.

Passed Dec. 27,
1811.

WHEREAS, Sundry, persons of the city and pre-
cincts of Baltimore have represented to this General
Assembly, that the beauty and convenience of the
said city and precincts require the opening and ex-
tending of Saint Paul's street, which is situated partly
in the city and partly in the precincts, and have ac-
cordingly petitioned for the same: — Therefore.

Preamble.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners of the city of Bal-
timore shall be, and they are hereby authorised and
empowered to open and extend Saint Paul's street,
commencing at its intersection with North street as
laid down on a plot of that part of the city and pre-
cincts made by Smiths, and Williams, and recorded in
Baltimore county court, and running east forty-nine
and one half feet wide until it connects with Fish
street, and so that the south side of Saint Paul's street
shall intersect Fish street by a straight line running
east; and the said street when so opened and extend,
ed, and the valuation and assessments herein-after di-
rected to be made shall have taken place, shall be
deemed and taken, and is hereby declared to be a
public street and highway forever thereafter; and the
said commissioners are hereby required to return a
plot ascertaining the limits and extent of the said street
when so opened and extended, to the register of the
city of Baltimore, who shall receive and file the same
as part of the plot of the city and precincts of Balti-
more.

Baltimore county, after haying given at least ten days
notice in one of the newspapers of the city of Balti-
