CHAPTER 128.

Passed Dec. 27,
1811.

An act authorising the Levy Court of Baltimore
county to appoint supervisors on the road therein
mentioned, and to repeal the act entitled, An
act relating to the criminals in Baltimore
county.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the levy court of Baltimore county
be, and they are hereby authorised and directed to
appoint supervisors on the following roads, and to
have the same kept in repair as other public roads
are kept in repair in said county, to wit: The Phila-
delphia and Belle-Air roads, and the Liberty-town
road as far as Brown's smiths shop; that being the
distance the criminals have cleared out, opened and
made.

AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said levy
court shall assess and levy on the assessable property
in said county, for the purpose of clearing out, open-
ing and making the upper part of the said Liberty
road, viz. From Brown's shop aforesaid, to the Balti-
more and Frederick county line, the sum of two thou-
sand dollars for the purpose of clearing out and mak-
ing said road; and the said levy court shall appoint su-
pervisors to superintend the clearing out and making
the said part of the said road.

AND BE IT ENACTED, That the act entitled,
An act relating to the criminals in Baltimore county,
be, and the same is hereby repealed, and the levy court
of Baltimore county are hereby authorised to employ
the criminals now at work on the roads in said
county, in such way as they may think will be most
beneficial to the county, any provision in any law to
the contrary notwithstanding.

Baltimore county, at their next levy, shall assess and
levy on the assessable property of said county, the
sum of three hundred dollars for the purpose of clear-
ing and making good that part of the Belle-Air road
lying between the little falls of Gunpowder and Jef-
fery 's tavern, in Baltimore county.
