An act explanatory of an act passed at the present ses-
sion of the General Assembly of Maryland, entitled,
a supplement to the charter of the Baltimore Equi-
table Society for the insuring of Houses from loss by
Fire.

Meaning of
act.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the title of said act shall be un-
derstood to mean, a supplement to the charter of the
Baltimore Equitable Society for insuring Houses from
loss by fife.
|

|
Meaning of 4th
section.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the fourth section
of said act, shall be understood as follows: after the
word "settlement," in said section, to read, "as provided
for in the first and second sections of the original charter
of said society."

|
Meaning of 6th
section.
|
SEC. 3 And be it enacted, That the sixth section of
said act, shall he understood to mean the approbation of
a majority of the members of said society, "in general
meeting assembled."
CHAPTER 104.

An act to allow further time to Charles G. Haslup,
Sheriff of Howard District, to execute his bond for
the year eighteen hundred and fifty.
|
|
|
Time extended.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Charles G. Haslup, Sheriff of How-
ard District, be and he is hereby allowed until the fifth
of March, eighteen hundred and fifty, to execute his
bond to this State, as Sheriff of Howard District, for the
year eighteen hundred and fifty, and that said bond,
if executed and approved, on or before that day, shall
be as valid and binding on said Sheriff and his sureties,
as if executed within the time now limited by law.

Declared valid.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all official acts done,
or to be done and performed by said sheriff, after he
shall have bonded as aforesaid, shall be as valid and ef-
fectual in law, as if he had executed his bond within
the time prescribed by existing laws.
