RESOLUTIONS.

Resolution directing the Governor to have procured
a marble block from any quarry in this State, of
dimensions suitable for insertion in the Washing-
ton National Monument, and to forward the same
to the proper agent or agents, at Washington
City.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
As an evidence of the grateful memory of the citizens
of Maryland of the virtues and services of the Father
of. his Country, that the Governor be and he is here-
by directed to have procured a marble block from any
quarry in this State, of dimensions suitable for inser-
tion in the Washington National Monument, now in
progress of erection, and that in addition to the Coat
of Arms of this State, the following words be engraved
thereon: Maryland — The memorial of her regard for
the Father of his Country, and of her "cordial, habi-
tual and immovable attachment" to the American
Union; and to forward the same to the proper agent
or agents, at Washington city, and that he is hereby
authorised to pay for the same out of any money in
the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.

Resolutions in relation to the Commissioner of
Loans.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Commissioner of Loans of the State of
Maryland, be and he is hereby required to furnish
annually on the first day of April to commissioners
levy courts or appeal tax court of each county, dis-
irict, or city, in which any holders of the certificates
of the State Loan may reside, a list of such holders,
so far as their place of residence may be known to
said commissioner, with the amount of said certifi-
cates held by each, that the same may be assessed as
other personal properly liable to county, district or
city taxation.
Resolved, That said Commissioner of Loans be and
he is hereby required to keep in his office a full list
