RESOLUTIONS.

authorised and directed to pay to the directors of the
Maryland Penitentiary the sum of thirty thousand
dollars, to be paid in monthly instalments, from the
first day of April next, the said sum to be taken out
of any unappropriated money in the treasury, and to
be applied, by the directors, towards payment of the
expenses, and carrying on the business operations of
said institution.

Resolution in favor of John S. E. Nutwell.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Treasurer of Maryland pay, out of any un-
appropriated funds, to the order of John S. E. Nut-
well, a sum equal to the State tax upon twenty-five
hundred dollars of merchandise, for eight years from
eighteen hundred and forty-two to eighteen hundred
and forty-nine, inclusive, the said tax not being pro-
perly chargeable.

Resolution in favor of Benjamin L. Gantt.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Treasurer pay to Benjamin L. Gantt, Ser-
geant-at-Arms of the House of Delegates, at Decem-
ber Session, eighteen hundred and forty-six, the sum
of one hundred ami thirty-six dollars, and ten cents,
in full for balance due him for services rendered by
order of said House, in the case of Judge Le Grand.
