SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That said president and
directors, or a majority of them, may do all acts neces-
sary for conducting the business and carrying out the
objects of the corporation, may appoint and employ
any agent or other persons by them deemed necessary
for accomplishing said objects, may declare annual
or semi-annnal dividends of profits, as ascertained by
them, and direct the time and manner of all transfers
of stock, but no sale or purchase of real estate shall
be made by them, except by the consent of two-thirds
of the stockholders, voting as provided in section
third.

CHAP. 90.
Duties of pres-

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall not
be construed to confer on said corporation any bank-
ing powers, nor the right to issue any bill or note in
the form or style of a bank note, to be used as a cur-
rency.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the Legislature re-
serves to itself the right to alter, amend or annul this
act of incorporation at its pleasure.
CHAPTER 90.

Reservation.
|

An act to allow Seth W. Warfield, late Collector of the
First Collection District of Howard District, fur-
ther time to complete his collections.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Seth W. Warfield, late collector of
the first collection district of Howard District, be and
he is hereby authorised and empowered to collect any
taxes or balance of taxes now remaining due and
uncollected by him, in the district aforesaid, in the
same manner and with the same power and privileges
as are allowed by the existing laws in such cases
made and provided.

Time allowed.
|

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Seth W.
Warfield shall, in every instance, before he shall pro-
ceed to the aforesaid collection, make affidavit before
some justice of the peace for Howard District, that
the same remains unpaid, and that he has not received
any security or satisfaction for the same, or any part
thereof, more than the credit allowed thereon.
