CHAPTER 79.

CHAP. 80.

An act to change the place of holding the Polls in the
fourth Election District of Queen Anne's County,

Passed
Feb. 12, 1850.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the place of holding the polls in the fourth
election district of Queen Anne's county, shall after the
passage of this act, be at or near Denny' store, in said
district, any law the contrary notwithstanding.

CHAPTER 80.

The place of
voting changed.

An act to allow Joel Thomas, former Sheriff and Col-
lector of Taxes in Queen Anne's County, further
time to complete his collection.

Passed Feb. 12,
1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Joel Thomas, former collector
of taxes in, and late sheriff of Queen Anne's county,
be and he is hereby authorised and empowered, by
himself, or any person or persons he may appoint and
depute, to collect any and all county taxes, or balances
of county taxes, due to him as collector, and now
remaining unpaid, and all fees, sums of money or
balances, which may be due and owing to him as
sheriff, or in his hands for collection, for the several
years in which he was collector of taxes in, and sheriff
of, said county, in the same manner, and with the same
powers and privileges he could or might have done
within the time limited by law.

Authorised to
collect.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Joel
Thomas, before he proceeds to make any collections
under and by virtue of this act, shall make out and de-
liver to the person or persons, from whom any taxes, or
balances of taxes, or fees, or balances of fees, may be
demanded, an account of the taxes, or balances of taxes,
or fees, or balances of fees, due from such person or per-
sons, and shall annex thereto an affidavit that the same
is due and unpaid.

To deliver ac-
count.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the authority
hereby given, shall continue until the first day of De-
cember, eighteen hundred and fifty-one, and no longer.
