CHAP. 471.

CHAPTER 470.

Passed Mar. 9,
1850.

An act to exempt from the costs of storage all Mary-
land Tobacco in the hands of the Planters, inspect-
ed in the Tobacco Warehouses, in Baltimore.

Exempt from
storage.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly, of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, no tobacco
sent to Baltimore, or now in the warehouses, for Inspec-
tion, and which may be the growth of this State, and in
the hands of the planters, or their agents, shall be sub-
ject to any costs or expenses for storage or warehouse rent,
but the same shall be free from all such costs and char-

ges; provided however, that nothing contained in this
act shall be construed to apply to any tobacco, the
growth of any other State, or the growth of this State,
which may have been sold and disposed of to any pur-
chaser or shipper, but. on such tobacco, the same costs
for storage and warehouse rent shall be charged, as are
now allowed by law.

CHAPTER 471.

Passed Mar. 9,
1850.

An act for the relief of William Adkins, of Worcester
County.

To issue patent.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the register of the land office of the
State of Maryland, be and he is hereby authorised and
required to issue to William Adkins, a patent on a cer-
tificate of resurvey on file on said office, called Samp-
son's Beginning, resurveyed the sixth day of March,
eighteen hundred and thirty-three, and containing sixty-

five and three-quarter acres of land; provided however,
that before said patent is issued, the said William Ad-
kins, shall pay to the treasurer of the State, the compo-
sition money due for the vacant land included in said
certificate of resurvey.

Not to affect
rights.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That nothing contained
in this act, shall be construed as to affect the rights of
any other person, acquired before the passage of this act.
