CHAPTER 75.

CHAP 76.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act relating to Ar-
rests in Civil Cases, in the State of Maryland.

Feb. 13, 1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the act entitled, an act relating to

arrests in civil cases, in the State of Maryland, passed
December session, eighteen hundred and forty-six, chap-
ter three hundred and sixty, be and the same is hereby
repealed, so far as it may affect in any manner the case
of plaintiffs, who are residents of the State of Maryland
at the time of issuing process.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That before any
plaintiff shall be entitled to the benefit of this act, that
he shall make affidavit before some justice of the peace,
to be filed in the case, that the debt upon which such
process may be sued out, is bona fide due to the said
plaintiff, and that the said process is not sued out for
the benefit, either directly or indirectly, of a non-resident
of the State of Maryland.

CHAPTER 76.

Oath required.

An act incorporating the Freight Line of Cecil county,
Maryland.

Passed Feb. 7,
1850.

WHEREAS, It is represented to the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, that the incorporating of a freighting
company, having for its object the insuring of a safe
and speedy conveyance of the various products of
the fanner to a market, would greatly benefit the ag-
ricultural interests of a large portion of the State,
situated on the waters of the Chesapeake bay, enhance
the value of the property thereof, and thereby increase
the revenue of the State; and whereas, it is repre-
sented to the General Assembly of Maryland, that an
association has been formed to promote this object —
Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That George W. Bennet, Robert H.
Thomas, Benjamin S. Foulks, Benjamin. Craig, and
James L. Craig, and all and every person or persons
who may become subscribers according to the mode
