CHAP. 430.

liabilities and duties now existing to the said associa-
tion be transferred to a body corporate, and continue
to exist there in like manner as they now exist in the
said association — therefore.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the said Matthew Horn,
Thos. Cowan, Thos. Fisher, Chs. Brecht, Win. Reid,
S. Brooks, E. H. Docwra, H. T. Compton, George
Strohmeyer, Philip Meir, John L. Brunner, Henry
Frederick, Henry Wittich, John McEldowney, John
C. French, H. S. Kimball, Conrad Jockel, C. Batten-
field, Peter Karnindum, William Nelson, Jacob H.
Wilhelm, John McAlpin, Henry Reipe, F. T. Hott-
hans, A. Storch Michael McCourt, William Morning-
star, H. Reisinger, Mary Debranthwaite, Charles
Degenhard, Paul Behlen, Frantz Schad, Henry P.
Matthaie, Charles H. Brooks, E. Roning, C. C. Eger-
ton, senior, John F. Arminger Joseph Y. Ford,
John Mowbray, W. G. Middleton, B. R. Reynolds,
Isaac Matthews, William M. Edwards, Henry Mar-
shall, A. D. Shutz, John M. Holloway Helen Binn-
net, Richard H. Woody, Luther C. Gadd, Elizabeth
Platt, L. W. Thuner, C. Leiman, John Lange, Simon,
Mersfelder, Ranslier Smith, George S. Clogg, Thom-
as Gahagan, John Slaughter, John Frederick, Henry
Wiegel, D. Blundell, Aug. C. Teitman, James J.
Brooke, William Volandt, F. Von Bokern, Charles
Reinhardt, Philip Henkel, J. H. Kiel, John H. Mil-
burn Louis Hellweg, H. Henkelman, James Mc-
Creery, George H. Simmons, James G Medly, Ed-
ward Choate,N. A. Merluzzi, James W. Gorman, Uri
Kilburn, Jacob Leib, A. J. Wilhelm, James F. Lee,
Francis Schuerman, William G. Wetherall, George
Gruebel and others, their associates and successors,
be and are hereby created a body corporate, under the
name and style of the Baltimore Homestead Associa-
tion, and by that name and style shall and may have
succession, and be capable in law and in equity of
purchasing, holding and disposing of real, leasehold
and personal property, and may sue and be sued,
plead and he impleaded, answer and defend, and be
answered and defended in all courts of law and equi-
ty, and may make, execute and deliver, and have to
them made, executed and delivered all deeds, trans-
fers, gifts, grants, mortgages, releases of mortgages,
covenants, agreements and bargains whatsoever, and
may have and use a common seal, and the same alter
or renew at pleasure, and do generally all acts and,
