CHAP. 400.
Banking forbid.
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted. That nothing herein
contained shall be construed as granting banking privi-
leges to said corporation, or exempting their properly
and effects from taxation, and the Legislature hereby
reserves the right to alter, amend or repeal this act of
incorporation at pleasure.

CHAPTER 399.
An act to repeal an act therein mentioned.

Repealed.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the act
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and forty-
six, chapter one hundred and forty-one, and the supple-
ment thereto, be and the same are hereby repealed, so
far as the same had operation in district number one, in
Allegany county.

An act entitled, an act to alter and change the name
of Emma Olivia Everly, of Washington County.
|

Name changed.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the name of Emma Olivia Everly, a resident of
Washington county, be and the same is hereby alter-
ed and changed to Emma Olivia Martin, and it shall
be lawful for the said Emma Olivia Martin, at all times
hereafter to be called and known by and hold and use
the name of Emma Olivia Martin, and by that name
shall have the right to purchase, sell, convey, devise,
or receive by bequest, any property hereafter devised,
to sue and be sued in any court of law and equity.
