county of Anne Arundel, for the years eighteen hun-
dred and forty-seven, and eighteen hundred and forty-
eight, to complete the collection of State and County
taxes for the said years, be and is hereby extended to
the first day of March, eighteen hundred and fifty-one.

CHAP. 394.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That, the said

Edward Dorsey, of Richard, shall in no case have pow-
er to make any collection of County or State taxes from
any individual who, upon claim made, shall make affi-
davit before some justice of the peace of the same coun-
ty, that the tax claimed has been paid.

CHAPTER 394.

Affidavit to bar

claim.

An act to establish an additional Election District, in

Allegany County.

1850.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, by the petition of sundry citizens of district two,
in Allegany county, that their convenience would be
greatly subserved by the alteration and division of
Election District number two, and the creation of an
additional district out of the same — Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That Trueman West, Richard Fairall
and Meshack Browning, or a majority of them, of
Allegany county, be and they are hereby appointed
commissioners, and authorised forthwith to review
District number two, in said county, and in their dis-
cretion, make such alteration and division, and create
an additional district, as better to subserve the con-
venience of the inhabitants of said district, in said
county, and the said commissioners shall make a re-
turn of all their proceedings to Allegany county
court, to be there recorded at the expense of said
county, and paid as county charges are levied and
paid; in case of the death, resignation, removal front
the county, or refusal to act, of any of the commis-
sioners named in this act, the Governor shall im-
mediately fill such vacancy, by the appointment of
other commissioner or commissioners.

intended to be created by virtue of this act, shall be
entitled to all the rights and privileges allowed to
