Preamble.

CHAPTER 387.

An act for the benefit of Achsah D. Warfield.

WHEREAS, it is represented by the petition of Ach-
sah D. Warfield, of Howard district, that she inter-
married with Reuben Warfield, on the second day of
December, eighteen hundred and forty three, being
then in possession of a negro slave named Mary El-
len, which, to secure to her the advantage and pro-
tection of the act of December session, eighteen hun-
dred and forty-two, chapter two hundred and ninety-
three, should have been recorded, and so forth, and
praying that an act may pass to enable her to hold
and dispose of the said girl in the same manner as if
the record had been made — Therefore,

Act of 1842, ch.
293, extended.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That all the rights, securities and advan-
tages of the act of eighteen hundred and forty-
two, chapter two hundred and ninety-three, be and
the same are hereby extended to said Achsah D.
Warfield as fully and absolutely as if the record had

been made at the time of her marriage; provided how-
ever, that said Achsah D. Warfield, cause such record
as is required by the seventh section of said act, to bo
made within thirty days from the passage this act;
provided, that nothing in this act shall be so con-
strued as affect the legal rights of any creditor of said
Achsah D. Warfield, or of her husband Reuben War-
field.

CHAPTER 388.

Passed
Mar. 7, 1850.

An act entitled, an act appointing Commissioners to
create an additional Free School, in Election Dis-
trict number five, in Prince George's County.

Commissioners
appointed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That William B. Bowie, John B.
Pumphrey and Charles Clagett, of Prince George's
county, be and they are hereby appointed commission-
ers, and they, or a majority of them, are hereby autho-
rised and empowered to lay off an additional school dis-
trict in the third election district, if, in their opinion,
