CHAP. 382.

permitted to employ at Piney point, in Saint Mary's
county, as servants, in and connected with the house
of entertainment there established, free negroes from
the District of Columbia or elsewhere, during the
season of the year when the said establishment is the
resort of invalids and others for health or pleasure;

provided, the said free negroes shall during their said
employment, confine themselves to the said house of
entertainment and the grounds and buildings used
therewith; and provided also, immediately after the
said season, the said free negroes shall depart from
this State, and not be found therein, under the penal-
ties of the act heretofore made and provided in such
cases, as if this act had not passed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the period for which
the permission under this act is granted, shall com-
mence on the first day of June, in each year, and ter-
minate on the first day of October, in each year, so
long as said establishment at Piney point shall be
owned and kept as a place of resort for invalids and
others visiting there for health or pleasure.

An act to change the dividing line running between
Frederick, Buckeystown, and Jefferson Districts, in
Frederick County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the divid-
ing line between Frederick, Buckeystown, and Jeffer-
son districts, in Frederick county, be and is hereby
changed to the eastern summit range of the Catoctin
mountain, crossing the Frederick and Harper's Ferry
ridge road, at or near the sixth mile post, on said road,
from Frederick city.
