An act to provide for the appointment of a Wood Cord-
er, in the village of Frenchtown, in Cecil County.
|
|
|
Governed to
appoint.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Governor be, and he is hereby
empowered and required, by and with the advice and
consent of the Senate, to appoint a wood corder for the
village of Frenchtown, in Cecil county, whose duty it
shall be to measure and inspect all wood delivered in
said village of Frenchtown.

To make oath.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That before the said corder
shall proceed to measure and inspect any wood, he shall
take an oath or affirmation, faithfully and fully to per-
form his duly as measurer and inspector of wood, to the
best of his skill and judgment, without favor, affection,
partiality or prejudice.

Compensation.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be
lawful for the said wood corder to charge and receive
six and a quarter cents for each and every cord of wood
inspected by him, from the seller thereof, and on neglect
or refusal of the seller to pay the same, the said corder
of wood is hereby authorised to collect the same, as
other small debts are now collected by law out of court.

An act to protect Will Ducks, and other Wild Fowl,
in the waters of Chester and Sassafras rivers and
the Chesapeake bay, and their tributary streams,
bordering on Kent County.
|

Penalty for
using decoy
ducks, etc.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That if any person or persons shall use
any decoy ducks, sink boats, sneak boats, craft or floats,
in any of the waters of Chester and Sassafras rivers and
the Chesapeake bay, and their tributary streams, bor-
dering on Kent county, while engaged in shooting at
or killing wild ducks or other wild fowl, he or they
shall be subject to a fine of not less than five dollars nor
more than fifty dollars for each and every offence, and
all things hereinafter enumerated which may have been
used in violation of this law shall be forfeited, that is to
