and directed to purchase, for the use of the State, suita-
ble portable scales or balances as he in his judgment.

CHAP. 288.

shall deem suitable; provided, such scales or balances
shall not exceed the sum of seventy-five dollars, and for
the purchase of said scales the treasurer of Maryland,
be and he is hereby authorised to pay to the order of
said inspector, out any money in the treasury not other-
wise appropriated, the aforesaid sum, or so much there-
of, as may be necessary to defray the expense of said
scales or balances, upon the presentation by said inspec-
tor of the proper vouchers thereof.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of
acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be and
the same is hereby repealed.

A supplement to an act to provide for the apportion-
ment and expenditures of School money in Mont-
gomery county, passed December session, eighteen
hundred and forty-one.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the school managers of the second elec-
tion district of Montgomery county, are hereby direct-
ed and required forthwith to divide the said election
district into a suitable and convenient number of school
districts, and from time to time to alter and regulate the
same, as the public good or the convenience of the peo-
ple may require, and they shall in all respects carry out
the provisions of the original act to which this it supple-
ment.
