CHAP. 285.

CHAPITER 284.

4, 1850.

An act entitled, an act to allow William Turner, late
Sheriff of Baltimore county, further time for the com-
pletion of his collection.

Authorised to

collect.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That William Turner, late Sheriff of Baltimore coun-
ty, bo and he is hereby allowed a further time of two
years, from and after the passage of this act, for the
completion of his collections.

CHAPTER 285.

A supplement to an act relating to the appointment of
Constables in this State, and for other purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of Dor-
chester county, be and they are hereby authorised to
make appointment of constables for the districts and
towns in said county, at any time during their session,
and in lieu of the bond prescribed by the act of eighteen
hundred and one, each and every constable, before he
acts as such, shall give bond to the State of Maryland,
with good and sufficient security, in the penalty of two
thousand dollars, to be approved by the said commis-
sioners, with condition in said bond, that the said con-
stable shall well and faithfully execute the office of con-
stable in all things appertaining thereto, and shall also
well and truly account for all monies placed in his hands
for collection, and shall also well and truly pay all sums
of money received by him, and it shall be the duly of

the said commissioners to have the same entered on re-
cord by their clerk, in a book to be kept by said clerk
for that purpose, and a copy thereof, under the seal of
said commissioners, shall be good evidence to prove the
execution of such bond in any court of this State.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That an attested copy of
the said bond, shall be good evidence in law to main-
tain an action for the breach of any condition of the
said bond, as if the some were actually produced and
proved in said court.
