1949.

eighty-three, between George Mason, of Fairfax coun-
ty, in the State of Virginia, and Thomas Beall, of Sam-
uel, of Washington county, conveying a tract of land
called Lime Stock Rock, and recorded among the land
records of Washington county, be and the same is here-
by made valid and effectual in law as though the said
deed had been properly executed, acknowledged and
recorded.

CHAP. 240.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall go into
effect and operation from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 240.

In force.

An act for the relief of Arnold Mure, of Somerset

County.

Passed Mar. 2,
1850.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly,
that a certain Arnold Mure, of Somerset county, be-
came the purchaser of a certain tract of land in Somer-
set county, it being all that tract or parcel of land of
which Charles Howarth, late of said county, died
seized, and which is more fully described in the pro-
ceedings in Somerset county court, upon the petition of
Jane Howarth, to value and divide the real estate of
said Charles Howarth; and whereas, said sale has been
fully ratified by said court, and the said Arnold Mure
has paid all the purchase money due for said land, ex-
cept such as may be due to Jane Howarth, who is non
compos mentis, and incompetent to receive the same;
and whereas, the said Arnold Mure is anxious to pay
the said Jane, and to obtain a deed for said land — There-
fore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners appointed by Somerset county
court, to sell the land of Charles Howarth, of said
county, deceased, namely: John Waters, George Davy,
Tubman L. Hall, Samuel S. Boggs and Thomas E.
Ballard, or a majority of them, upon being satisfied, by
competent testimony, that the said Arnold Mure has
paid all the, money due for said real estate, except such
as may be due to said Jane Howarth, and that what
may be due to said Jane, has been faithfully applied to
her use, are hereby authorised to give to the said Arnold
Mure a deed for the said land, conveying to him all the
right and title of Charles Howarth and Jane Howarth,
