CHAP. 235.

at any time hereafter alter, amend, or repeal this act of in-
corporation.


CHAPTER 234.

Passed Feb. 26,
1850.

An act to authorise Israel Norris, late Collector of
State Taxes, for Carroll County, further time to
complete his collections.

Time allowed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Israel Norris, late collector of State
taxes of Carroll county be, and he is hereby authorised
and empowered to collect any tax or balance of taxes,
now remaining due to and uncollected by him, in the
same manner as he could or might have done within
the time limited by law.

To make oath.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the said Israel Norris
shall in every instance, before he shall proceed to the
aforesaid collection, make affidavit, before some justice
of the peace for Carroll county, that the same remains
unpaid, and that he hath not received any part thereof
more than the credits allowed thereon.

Now in force.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this law shall not
be in force longer than two years from the passage
thereof.

CHAPTER 235.

15, 1850.

An act to enlarge the powers and authority of the Coun-
cilmen of the Town of Cumberland, in Allegany
County.

Enlargement
of powers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the corporate authorities of the
town of Cumberland, be and they are hereby autho-
rised and empowered to remove all nuisances and ob-
structions, and pass all necessary ordinances, to re-
move, or cause to be removed, all houses, fences,
wagons, and stones from the public ground and lots
on which is now erected the court house and prison
of said county , and that it shall not be lawful for any
