CHAP. 211.

CHAPTER 210.

March 1, 1850.

A supplement to the act incorporating the Cambridge
and Blackwater Canal company, in Dorchester
county , passed December session, eighteen hundred
and forty-seven, chapter two hundred and four.

Enlarged.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the charter of the Cambridge and Blackwater
Canal company, be and the same is hereby enlarged, so
as to authorise and empower the said company to ex-
tend the said canal from the Blackwater to the Nanti-
coke river.

CHAPTER 211.

1850.

An act to confirm and make valid a certain Mortgage
therein mentioned.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly,
by Thomas Perry and Thomas Devecman , that a cer-
tain deed of mortgage dated on the fifteenth day of Jan-
uary, eighteen hundred and fifty, executed by John M.
Armstrong and Ann Maria Armstrong, his wife, to the
said Thomas Perry and Thomas Devecman, was ac-
knowledged before Murray Thayer and David Sum-
mers, two justices of the peace in and for Allegany
county; and whereas, it is further represented, that al-
though the said David Summers, was duly appointed a
justice of the peace in and for said county, that he failed
and neglected to qualify as such, as directed by the acts
of Assembly in such case nude and provided, — There-
fore,

Made valid.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the said deed of mortgage, from the said John M.
Armstrong, and Ann Maria Armstrong, his wife, to the
said Thomas Perry and Thomas Devecman, bearing
date on the fifteenth day of January, eighteen hundred
and fifty, be and the same is hereby confirmed and
made valid to all intents and purposes, as if the same
had been regularly acknowledged before two justices of
the peace in for said Allegany county, duly qualified to
act as such.
