in Frederick county, that the school house and premi-
ses belonging to said district, are located so far from a
central position, that numbers of the smaller children
are subjected to great inconvenience, if not entirely de-
prived of the advantages contemplated by this noble
institution — Therefore,

CHAP. 172.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Joshua Daub, Albert Ritchie, and Thomas Hal-

ler, trustees of primary school number seventy-one,
and their successors, be and they are hereby authorised,
to sell, dispose of, and convey, the real estate belong-
ing to primary school district, number seventy-one, and
to purchase, procure, or build a school house elsewhere
within the limits of said district, as in their judgment
they may think best, any law or laws to the contrary
notwithstanding.

CHAPTER 172.

Authority to
sell.

An act to authorise the Judges of the Orphan's Court

of Frederick County, to pass an order for the pay-
ment of certain money to the Trustees of the Alms
House of Frederick County.

Passed Feb. 22,
1850.

WHEREAS, a certain Leo Sowers, a lunatic and pau-
per, who has been an inmate of the alms house of
Frederick county for many years, has become entitled
by bequest, to the sum of forty-four dollars and thirty-
five cents, which was paid into the hands of the regis-
ter of wills of Frederick county, and is now deposited
in the Fredericktown Saving's Institution, subject to the
order of the orphan's court of Frederick county.

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the justices of the orphans court
of Frederick county, be and they are hereby authoris-
ed, empowered, and directed, to pass an older for the
payment to the trustees of the alms house of Frederick
county, the said sum of forty-four dollars and thirty-five
cents, and the interest thereon accrued, deposited in the
Fredericktown Savings Institution, for the use of the
said Leo Sowers, in the name of the register of wills of
Frederick county, and subject to their order, to be ap-
plied by the said trustees of the alms house of Frede-
rick county, to the support and maintenance of the
said Leo Sowers.
