CHAPTER 120.

CHAP. 121.

An act to allow Green S. Etchison further time to com-
plete his collections.

Passed Feb. 25,
1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Green S. Etchison, late collec-
tor of State and county tax, for the Second Election
District of Montgomery county, be and he is hereby
authorised and empowered to collect any taxes or ba-
lances of taxes now remaining due to and uncollected
by him in the district aforesaid, in the same manner
and with the same power and privileges as are allowed
by the existing laws in such cases made and pro-
vided.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Green S.
Etchison shall, in every instance, before he shall pro-
ceed to the aforesaid collection, make affidavit, before
some justice of the peace for Montgomery county, that
the same remains unpaid, and that he has not received
any security or satisfaction for the same, or any part

thereof, more than the credit allowed thereon; pro-
vided, that no person or persons shall be compelled to
pay any tax or balance of taxes so alleged to be un-
paid, who shall, before any justice of the peace in said
county, make oath that the said tax, or balances of
tax, has been paid and fully satisfied.

Proviso.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall not
continue in force longer than the last day of Decem-
ber, eighteen hundred and fifty-two;

CHAPTER 121.

In force.

An act to make valid certain Elections of Corporation
Officers, in the town of Boonsboro', in Washington
county, held under the act of Assembly, passed at
December Session, eighteen hundred and thirty-one,
chapter one hundred and thirty-nine, and its supple-
ments.

WHEREAS, It is represented to the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, that certain elections for burgess and
commissioners of Boonsboro', under the act above re-
