valid and binding in law, as if the said appointment had
been made at the recommendation of Mary Ann Clark,
the person named by the said testator in his last will
and testament, to make the said recommendation.

CHAP. 99.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the proceedings had
and done by the said Upton Dorsey, Thomas H. O'Neal
and Zachariah T. Windsor, in the partitioning and laying
off of the said tract or parcel of real estate, be and the same
are hereby fully ratified and confirmed, and made valid
to all intents and purposes whatsoever.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the original peti-
tion of the said John H. Worthington and John Ridgely
Clark, Nicholas Worthington Clark and Rachael Clark,
infants, by their father and prochein ami, William Clark,
and Charles W. Dorsey, executor as aforesaid, to this
General Assembly, touching the premises, together with
exhibit A. and B. therewith filed, and a copy of this act,
duly authenticated, be furnished and delivered by the
clerk of the House of Delegates to the said John H.

Worthington, and that it shall be the duty of the clerk
of Frederick county, and he is hereby required on pay-
ment to him of the usual fees for recording deeds and
other similar instruments, to record the same amongst
the land records of Frederick county, as the muni-
ments of title under and in virtue of said last will and
testament of the said testator of the said John H. Wor-
thington, his heirs and assigns forever, in and to the said
real estate so devised and partitioned as aforesaid.

An act to incorporate the Potomac Manufacturing Com-
pany.

WHEREAS, It is represented to the General Assembly
of Maryland, that a number of persons have associated
and formed themselves into a joint stock company, under
the name and style of the Potomac Manufacturing compa-
ny, for the purpose of building and conducting cotton
and other manufactories at Weverton in this State, and
have elected P. Fraser Smith, John D. Perkins, Mason
Kindell, Abraham Martin, John H. Shultz, George
Teakle, Henry Bell and Adam Wever, their directors,
and in order to avoid the inconveniences of an incor-
porated company consisting of many partners, are de-
