No. 36.

1847.

Resolution directing the Treasurer to pay to the order
of the Librarian certain sums of money.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the treasurer he and he is hereby authorised to pay to the
order of the Librarian for all books heretofore ordered
to be purchased by the General Assembly, at the sub-
scription price, thereof.

Preamble and Resolution to pay William Glover for re-
cording certain Chancery papers.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, that William Glover, of Annapolis city, as deputy
clerk for Ramsay Waters, late Register of the Court of
Chancery, was employed to record chancery sales of
real estate, and did record such of said sales as were
ready for record from December term eighteen hundred
and thirty-three to September term eighteen hundred
end thirty-six, but never having been compensated for
the same by the said Ramsay Waters, retained posses-
sion of the same and now has them in his possession ;
and whereas, it is further represented to this General As-
sembly, that said records are important in the Court of
Chancery, and must be supplied, and these will be fur-
nished by the said William Glover for a small compen-
sation, less than one-fourth the usual cost of recording
the same — Therefore,
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore he and he is hereby
authorised and directed to pay to said William Glover,
or his order, the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars,
upon his procuring from Louis Gassaway, esquire, pre-
sent Register in Chancery, a receipt or certificate that
the above named records from December terra eighteen
hundred and thirty-three to September term eighteen
hundred and thirty-six, entire, complete and in good
state of preservation, have been deposited in the Chan-
cery of the of Maryland, for the use and as the property
of said State.
