No. 15.

Passed
Jan. 27, 1848.

Resolution in favor of J. W. Hall.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer pay to J. W. Hall, the sum of twenty-five
dollars for services rendered to this House as page
during the present session.

No. 16.

Jan. 27, 1848.

Resolution authorising the Commissioner of Loans to
receive from State collectors certain coupons.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Commissioner of Loans be and he hereby is author-
ised and directed to receive from any State collector
such coupons and certificates of interest as may have
teen paid to the said collector for State taxes on or be-
fore the first day of October last; provided, that applica-
tion is made by said collector for the benefit of this reso-
lution within sixty days from the passage of the same;
and provided, the said Commissioner of Loans is satis-
fied in each case by the affidavit of the collector, that
the said coupons and certificates of interest were bona
fide paid to him for taxes on or before the said first day
of October last, and the treasurer is hereby authorised
and directed to credit in the account of such collectors
all sums so received by the Commissioner of Loans, in
coupons or certificates of interest.

unite with the Attorney General in the argument of
a cause in the Court of Appeals.

WHEREAS, The case of the State against the Balti-
more and Ohio Hail Road Company, which is fixed for
argument in the Court of Appeals on the first of Febru-
ary next, involves questions of great importance to the
State; and whereas, the said cause is to be argued on
