ture, gentlemen's libraries, plate, wearing apparel, pic-
tures, wines, liquors and other personal property which
may be or usually is kept in dwelling houses; provided,
the same belong to any member of said society.

CHAP. 281.

Proviso.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That said society shall
have power to make all bye-laws, rules and regulations
convenient and proper for the conducting and manage-
ment of the business of the society consistent with the
laws and constitution of the State of .Maryland, of the
United States, and of the provisions of this charter.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That all provisions of the
original charter of said society or any of the supplements
thereto, or any resolutions made at any general meeting
of the members of said society inconsistent with the pro-
visions of this act, be and the same are hereby absolutely

repealed.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.

In force.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-
tained shall be so construed as to authorise the issue of
any note, token, device, or other evidence of debt, to be
used as currency.

Banking for-
bid.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this ant of incorpo-
ration shall enure for thirty years from its passage, and
that the legislature reserves to itself the right to alter or
annul the same at pleasure.

CHAPTER 281.

Reservation.

A further supplement to an act entitled, an act to provide
for the Instruction of Youth in Primary Schools

throughout this State, so far as the same relates to Kent
County.

March 9, 1848.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That an additional school district, to be cal-
led number nine, in the first election district of Kent
county, be and the same is hereby established, and that
it be so formed and laid out as to include and be com-
posed of the territory comprised within the following
lines and boundaries, namely: beginning at Perkins' mill
and running with the main road until it intersects the
division line between the heirs of the late Richard Pippin
and Francis Cann, thence with said line throughout its
whole extent, thence with the division line between John
