CHAP. 246.

Levy authori-
sed to erect a
bridge.

CHAPTER 345.

An act authorising and empowering the Commissioners of
Dorchester County to levy a sum of money for building
a bridge over a canal in Park's Neck, in said County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the county commissioners of Dorches-
ter county be and they are hereby authorised and em-
powered at their next annual levy, to levy on the asses-
sable property of Dorchester county a sum of money
Sufficient for the buildings bridge over a canal in Park's

Proviso.

neck, in the lower part of said county; provided however,
that the said county commissioners shall before making
such levy be fully satisfied, and shall determine that
such bridge is requisite and necessary for the conve-
nience and wants of the citizens of said county.

To be built
by contract.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said county
commissioners shall deem the building of such bridge
over the aforesaid canal expedient and proper, and shall
determine in favor of it, after having proceeded to levy
the requisite amount for building the same, the said
commissioners are hereby authorised and empowered to
let the building of such bridge out at contract, to such
person or persons, and on such terms as shall by them
be deemed the most advantageous to the interest of the
said county.

Commission-
ers appointed
to designate a
place of hold-
ing elections.

An act for the appointment of Commissioners to desig-
nate a place of Election in the Salisbury District, in
Somerset County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That Jehu Parsons, John Rider and John White are
hereby appointed commissioners to designate and de-
termine upon some suitable house in the town of Salis-
bury for holding all elections in said election district,
and the above named commissioners are hereby required
to report to the clerk of Somerset county the place
designated on or before the first day of July next to be
recorded in the office of said clerk.
