CHAP. 232.

Report to be
published.

tions, with an account of the receipts and expenditures
of the past year, and an estimate of the expense for the
ensuing year.
SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the county commissioners to have published annually,
in pamphlet form, not less than five hundred copies of
the annual report of the board of school commissioners,
and that fifty copies of said report be distributed in each
election district in said county.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the commissioners of Washington county to have this
act printed and published in the most public places in
each election district of said County, at least three
months before the election of county sheriff and commis-
sioners, which said election is to be held on the first
Wednesday in October next, and every legally qualified
voter in said county is requested to put upon his ballot
for the public schools or against the public schools, and
the judges of election are required to have the same re-
corded and if it shall appear on comparing the votes
that a majority of legal voters of said county are in
favor of the said public schools as provided for in this
act, it shall be the duty of the Commissioners of said
county to carry into effect all the provisions of this act,
but if it shall appear on comparing the votes that a ma-
jority of the legal voters in said county are against the
provisions of this act, then said act shall be null and
void.

SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That as soon as the judges
of election shall have made their return, as now provid-
ed for in the fifteenth section of this act, and on com-
paring the votes cast it shall be found that a majority of
the legal voters of said county are in favor of the provi-
sions of this act, it shall be the duty of the commission-
ers of said county to convene at as early a day as prac-
ticable for the purpose of appointing one school com-
missioner for each election district in said county, and
to carry into effect as early a day as possible all the
duties imposed on them by this act.

Inconsistent
acts repealed.

SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That all acts inconsistent
with this act, be and the same are hereby repealed.
