CHAP. 181.
Reservation.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted. That the General
Assembly hereby reserves the right to alter, amend or
repeal this act at pleasure.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act for the protection
of Mechanics and others in Allegany county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That in the construction of the original act
to which this is a supplement, and of the supplements
therein, the same effect shall be given as to acts of as-
sembly which confer a general jurisdiction or are reme-
dial in their nature, and that such amendments may at
any time hereafter be made in the proceedings under
the said acts of assembly, now pending or hereafter to
arise, commencing with the claim or lien filed or to be
filed, and extending to all subsequent proceedings as may
be necessary or proper to effect the objects, intents and

that the amount of the claim or lien filed shall not in
any manner or under any circumstances be increased or
enlarged.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in all cases where
a claim or lien is filed, nothing more shall be necessary
than to state in general terms the nature and character
of the work done or materials furnished, the amount
due under the same, the name of the owner or reputed
owner of the building, such a general description of the
locality ami size of the building as shall be sufficient to
identify the same, and the name of the contractor, ar-
chitect or builder, if any, by whose request or upon
whose orders the said materials were furnished or work
done, and that in all cares where such claim or lien may
be filed by a contractor or builder who is indebted tor
work done or materials furnished at his request, the per-
son or persons to whom such contractor or builder is
indebted for the same may by petition claim to be paid
the amounts due him or them by such contractor or
builder out of the monies to be received from such
claim or lien, and the same may and shall be apportioned
in such manner or form and by such proceedings as may
