direct and authorise the agent of the school fund of said
county to pay over to the proper parties entitled to re-
ceive the value of the said land and damages, as may
be assessed, and shall further order the report of the
persons appointed as aforesaid with their approval there-
of to be recorded by the clerk of Worcester county.

CHAP. 178.

Sec. 9. And be it further enacted, That all acts
heretofore passed inconsistent with the provisions of this
act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 173.

Inconsistent
acts repealed.

An act to incorporate a Company to make a Turnpike
Road from Weaverton to Boonsborough, in Washing-
ton County.

March 2, 1848.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Casper W. Weaver, Edward, Gar-
rott, Emory Edwards, John Grim, Junior, Frederick,
Rhorer, Elias Davis, John Horine, Josiah Snavely and
Robert Fowler, and all other persons who may have sub-
scribed or may hereafter subscribe to the stock of said
company, he and they are hereby incorporated a body,
politic, for making a turnpike road, to be commenced
at Weaverton, and running thence through the towns,
of Brownsville and Rhorersville to the town of Boons-
borough, in Washington county, following the bed of
the old road as far as practicable.

Incorporated.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock.
of said company shall not exceed fifty thousand dollars
to be divided into shares of twenty dollars, each, and
as soon as subscribers to said stock amounting to the
sum of ten thousand dollars are obtained, a majority
so subscribing shall give three weeks publication in
one or more newspapers published in Hagerstown, of
the time and place designated by them for the stock-
holders in said company to meet for the purpose of
organizing said corporation, choosing by a plurality of

of whom shall constitute a quorum, and they shall se-
lect in the same manner by ballot a treasurer and
such other officers as they shall deem necessary for
conducting the affairs of said company until the first
Monday in November thereafter, and until a new elec-
