PHILIP F. THOMAS, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

1847.

queathed the sum of one thousand dollars to the Annual
Conference of the Maryland District of the Methodist
Protestant Church, for the use and benefit of the super-
annuated ministers of the said conference, to be paid to
the officers of said conference at such time after the ex-
piration of twelve months from the, testators decease as
might be convenient to his estate; and whereas, it is
doubtful whether the said bequest is good in law with-
out the leave of the Legislature — Therefore,

CHAP. 161.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the provisions of the said last will and
testament, so far as appertains to the bequest of one,
thousand dollars aforesaid, be and the same are hereby
ratified and confirmed.

Confirmed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Annual Con-
ference by its president and secretary or secretaries, at
any time hereafter, be and they are hereby authorised
and empowered to ask, demand, sue for and recover the
said legacy in any court of law or equity in this State,
and execute for the same a valid receipt and release.

CHAPTER 160.

May sue.

An act entitled, an act to repeal an act passed December
session, eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter one
hundred and thirty-two.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the law to establish a divisional line between
school district number one, in the lower election district
in Caroline county and the Federalsburgh academy, be
and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 161.

Passed
March 2, 1848.

sheriff of Washington county, further time to complete
his collections.
