CHAPTER 156.

An act to authorise the Frederick and Harper's Ferry
Road Company, to transfer to the Levy Court of Fre-
derick County, their corporate rights and franchises,
and their estate, real and personal, and the lottery grant.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Frederick ami Harper's Ferry road
company, be and they are hereby authorised and em-
powered, by an instrument of writing, under the seal of
the company, if any they have, if not under the seal of
the president, attested by the secretary, which instru-
ment of writing shall be recorded among the land records
of Frederick county, to assign and transfer to the levy
court of Frederick county, all their corporate rights and
franchises, all their estate, real and personal, and the
lottery giant now vested in said company by the act
passed at December session eighteen hundred and fif-
teen, chapter one hundred and sixty-six, and its supple-
ments, and by the act passed at December session
eighteen hundred and thirty-eight, chapter two hundred
and sixty-eight, and its several supplements.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the commis-
sioners of lotteries, be and they are hereby directed, from
and after the transfer and assignment aforesaid, to pay to
the levy court of Frederick county, for the uses and pur-
poses hereinafter mentioned, all such sum or sums of mo-
ney, as would have accrued and been payable to the Fre-
derick and Harper's Fairy road company, by virtue of
the existing lottery grants.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the levy
court of Frederick county, be and they are hereby au-
thorised to receive from the Frederick and Harper's
Ferry road company, an assignment and transfer of all
their corporate rights, privileges and franchises, all their
corporate estate, real and personal, the lottery grant
heretofore made to said road company, by virtue of the
acts of assembly hereinbefore mentioned, and all monies
now on hand.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the levy court
of Frederick county, out of the funds received from sard
road company, or out of monies which may hereafter be
received from the commissioners of lotteries, rebuild the
bridge over the Catoctin creek; secondly, shall pay to
the commissioners of Washington county the sum of
six hundred and sixteen dollars, to be expended in the
construction and repair of that portion of said road lying
