tired and forty-seven.


CHAPTER 137.

CHAP. 138.

An act to authorise the Commissioner of Allegany
County, to levy money for building or repairing

Bridges in said County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall

and may be lawful for the commissioners of Allegany

county, to levy on the assessable property of said coun-
ty, any sum or sums of money which they in their
discretion may deem necessary for the purpose of
building or repairing any bridge or bridges in said

exceed the sum of two thousand dollars in any one

CHAPTER 138.

Proviso.

An act relating to non-resident guardians of infants liv-
ing out of this State, and having property therein.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That where any infant or infants is or are to
or shall hereafter be entitled to the proceeds or any part
thereof, of any sales of property in this State, or to any
legacy, bequest or distributive share of any personal pro-
perty in the hands of any executor, administrator or

guardian in this State, and such infant, if male, is or
shall be under the age of twenty-one years, or if female,
under the age of eighteen years, and not residing in
this State, but residing in some other State, District of
Columbia or Territory of the United States, and having
a guardian or guardians in such other State, District of
Columbia or Territory, duly qualified according to the
laws thereof, and who shall there have given good and
sufficient security for the faithful performance of his or
their trust, as such, or in words to that effect, then the or
phans court of the county in which the said executor or
