CHAP. 15.

Allowance for
slaves.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That for all slaves who
shall be so confined by their owners or other persons as
runaways, for safe keeping, the sheriff of said county
shall receive the sum of twenty-five cents per day, to be
paid for by the owners of said slaves.

Inconsistent
acts repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all laws inconsis-
tent with the provisions of this act, be and they are
hereby repealed.

Time of hold-
ing the annual
session altered.

An act to change the time of holding the Annual Meeting
of the Commissioners for Montgomery County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
the annual session of the commissioners for Montgomery
county, shall commence on the first Monday of March
in each and every year, instead of the first Monday of
April, as is now by law required.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts now requir-
ed by law to be done at the session commencing on the
first Monday of April, shall hereafter be done at the session
to commence on the first Monday of March in each and
every year, and all reports and returns from any person
or persons, whom or whatsoever, now required by law
to be made to the said commissioners at the said April
session, shall be made at the March session of said com-
misioners in each and every year.

Name chang-
ed, &c.

An act entitled, an act to alter and change the name of
Sabina Kimble Taylor of Harford County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the name of Sabina Kimble Taylor, a resident of
Harford county, be and the same is hereby altered and
changed to Sabina Chatharine Taylor and it shall be
lawful for the said Sabina Catharine Taylor at all times
hereafter to be called and known by, and hold and use
the name of Sabina Catharine Taylor, and by that name
